About...

Hello, I'm Jason Colon, a commercial and portrait photographer based in New York City with a passion for crafting stunning visuals that tell compelling stories. With over a decade of experience in photography, I have honed my skills in various camera types, lighting techniques, and post-production software to produce exceptional imagery that exceeds clients' expectations. My work has been featured in prominent publications like Complex, Hypebeast, and Highsnobiety, among others, and I specialize in portrait, lifestyle, and still-life photography.

As a senior photographer and photo studio manager for Fila North America from August 2010 to November 2022, I led a team of photographers and studio assistants in producing high-quality imagery for all the brand's marketing and e-commerce channels. I collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop creative concepts for seasonal campaigns, product launches, and editorial shoots, resulting in increased brand recognition and sales growth. My responsibilities included managing budgets, timelines, talent casting, set design, lighting, and post-production editing. Additionally, I contributed to the development of the brand's visual identity guidelines and played an instrumental role in increasing their social media followers from 13,000 to over a million within two years.

Before joining Fila North America, I worked as a graphic designer for Urban Lifestyle Media from 2005 to 2009, where I designed a wide range of creative assets, including brand identities, marketing collateral, infographics, and website layouts. I also contributed to the design of a monthly print publication, collaborating with editorial and photography teams to develop creative concepts for feature stories, columns, and covers while ensuring brand consistency and alignment with editorial guidelines. In addition, I created custom graphics, illustrations, and infographics to support editorial content using Adobe Creative Suite and other design software tools.

In 2003, I co-founded Kicksclusive Magazine, a leading sneaker culture and lifestyle publication, where I served as the creative director until 2008. I managed a team of designers, writers, and photographers to create visually stunning and engaging layouts and features, while maintaining a strong editorial focus on the sneaker industry and its subculture. Additionally, I cultivated relationships with industry influencers to secure exclusive interviews and access to products for editorial coverage. Through my contributions, Kicksclusive Magazine played a significant role in the growth of the sneaker culture and industry.
